Lots to show + tell

Happy Memorial Day! It's finally (!) spring/summer here in North Dakota and that makes me so, so happy. I spent half of the weekend working and the other half at the lake and had a great time all around, of course.

We've been busy lately with lots of outdoor sessions :: families, kids, weddings and a maternity session!

Also, we are working on something special for all of the brides and grooms out there ... but more news on that in the coming weeks :)

I've got a lot to show you this week, so we'll start with a quick shot from an amazing maternity session last weekend. How adorable are these two?

Laura + Josh

More photos of photographers on the blog! Laura and Josh are the creative photographers behind Frozen Music Studios in Moorhead, Minn. Laura contacted me because they need some new photos of themselves for their business and home ... that weren't wedding-related :) I think most newer married couples can relate :: once you get married, it seems like all the photos you have together are wedding photos!

We met Laura and Josh in Fargo and had a great time wandering around downtown, laughing and capturing photos, on a cold April day. We love getting to know other photographers, and Josh and Laura are really sweet, funny, and photogenic!

Laura is gorgeous and really knows how to work it for the camera :)

I really liked this photo as I was editing it ... then two days later I saw it on my pal Britta's blog, too! (Check out Britta's cool wall-jumping photo here! ) It's a newer wall near the Plains Art Museum in Fargo and I guess that creative minds think alike :)

Claire is three

This weekend we had the weekend off from weddings and sessions and it was great to just relax a bit. Today I spent the day with little miss Claire to celebrated her third birthday! It was finally a bit nicer outside (on Friday, it was 37 degrees. Ick!) and I had lots of fun hanging out with Claire, Megan, Michael, Elias and Ezra (and the adults, too!).

Emily + Justin

We met up with Emily and Justin, some of our favorite photo friends, for a very fun photo session in Minneapolis this week. Emily is a fantastic photographer (check out Emily's blog here!) and it's always cool/slightly worrisome to photograph other photographers :) But we've photographed Emily and Justin before and we were excited to work with them again! Emily's husband Justin bought the portrait session as a birthday gift for her. Isn't that sweet?

We really wanted to try something different with these two, so we met up on Tuesday night to play with some interesting lighting and things :) Emily and Justin braved the rain + wind + raccoons + spiders for us and we LOVE THEM for that!

Winnipeg weekend
