Carissa and Shawn

I have SO MUCH to blog about! Carissa and Shawn were married two weeks ago in a sweet little North Dakota town called Linton. I was without Kory as my head assistant (or lazy ass., like Amanda calls him, hehee), but instead I had the always fun Katie of Katie Lewis Photography helping me out. Carissa and Shawn are a great couple and we had a great time working with them.

We found an old car to shoot by. It was cool :)

Meet Amanda, my executive ass.

You might remember Miss Amanda from our fun Amanda and the banjo shoot earlier this spring. She's put her banjo gig on hold for a bit so she can take on a new job :: executive assistant for Shawna Noel Photography (or executive ass, as she likes to call herself).

Amanda is the world's greatest organizer and she's putting her skills to good use around here. So far she's organized all the client lists, sent out info packets, and even made herself a name plate. It's so much fun to work with her every day :)

Here are some photos Amanda took around our office:: (Yes, that is her butt)
Mmm, peonies!
Amanda's a very serious person, as you can see ::
Always all business ::
Really, one serious shot ::

Elaina plus cousins

Elaina and her mom Jeanette made the trip from Fargo to Grand Forks last week to get some portraits of little Miss Elaina and her cousins Megan and Claire. To Elaina, there's nothing better than a "little slide," so after we tried to take a few photos without playground equipment, we had to go slide. And slide. And slide. Then run down a hill. Then slide some more. :)

I always say this, but Elaina's got the biggest, most beautiful eyes. I just love taking her photo :)

Here she is on her tractor (she's asking, "Can we slide yet?)::

Climbing toward the slide (this photo cracks me up!) ::

A group photo that didn't work out too well of the cousins: Elaina, Megan and Claire
Running down a hill is much more fun!

Tallie and Danny

Every wedding is unique, of course, and Kory and I like to come up with "wedding firsts," or a list of the first time something happens to us at a wedding. For example, at Heather and Kyle's wedding last year in Williston, the bride went through the drive-through at McDonald's before heading to the church. For us, that was a wedding first :)

Last weekend, in Rugby at Tallie and Danny's wedding, was the first time I was officially scared to death at a wedding ... after the ceremony, I got on the bus with the rest of the wedding party for a fun little drive around town before we went to the reception. Kory was following the bus in my car. All of a sudden, the bus is hauling ass up a hill, then PLOP! we're on the racetrack! The driver did three laps at about 50 mph on a dirt track, then whipped a big U-turn and did a couple laps the other direction. It was absolutely crazy but also very fun. I'm just glad we didn't die.

So, before the bus happened, we had some time with the couple for some portraits ::

And the girls drinking wine in the bathroom (a Rugby tradition, I'm told) ::

Jace and Beth (and Ann!)

A couple weeks ago, my friend Beth left the lovely city of Grand Forks for the big lights of Minneapolis. Before she left, I took some photos of Beth, her sister Ann and her nephew Jace. Beth has got to be the funniest and sweetest person I know and I'm so sad that we don't get to hang out at our weekly girls night anymore :( But ... she's moving on and moving up in the world, so I'm excited for her, too.

Here's Jace saying "bye bye" to Beth :)
These photos just crack me up :: Jace is standing on Beth's NECK to touch the ceiling (and I love how she's smiling through it!), and then playing patty-cake while airplaning. Too funny.
There was a big thunderstorm going on outside and each time Jace heard the thunder, he made this face ::
Beth and Jace laughing at Ann ::
