Meet adorable little Aubrey, daughter of our favorite Dj, Robert Benda (You can visit his website :: Robert Benda)
We took some snaps of Aubrey last week in a space near our office. She was too cute! And Robert and Nomani brought some rabbit ears as props. Hahaa, props. Always fun :)
This is my favorite shot. Nomani looks beautiful! |

| See! Props! Always a good time :) |

| Flood 2009 |
Personal Thursday, March 26, 2009 |

I'm sure that if you are from North Dakota, or even if you've watched the news in the last week, you know about the flooding that is happening all around our state. Our eyes are glued to the news to hear the latest reports on what's going on where, especially for our friends and clients in Fargo. If you'd like to check out some amazing photographs from the flooding in Fargo, go to ::

Luckily in Grand Forks, the Red River is predicted to crest between 50-53 feet, which is under the 60 foot levees we have. Today Kory and I took a walk down to the Sorlie Bridge in Grand Forks that has been closed because of flooding. It's about two blocks from our office.
If you want to see a live cam from Grand Forks, check out :: Grand Forks Herald live camera
Here's the bridge and river :: |

| Metal plates were placed in between columns on DeMers Ave. |

| Stairs down to the new swimming pool :: |

| I've never been able to stand in the middle of the Sorlie Bridge before. |

| This marker shows where the river was during different floods over the last 100 years. The top was in 1997, when the whole town of Grand Forks was flooded. |

| And here we are, freezing in the wind and snow (but looking rather happy?) :: |

| Baby James |
Portraits Wednesday, March 25, 2009 |

Last week we met up with Jenny, one of our 2007 brides, for a session with her adorable son James! James is a "honeymoon baby" and Jenny even has a blog to prove it :: The Honeymoon Baby
James is so, so sweet and wouldn't stop smiling during the entire session. He's got amazing blue eyes and looks just like his dad, Doug!
I'm so glad we had the chance to meet up with Jenny again. It's always fun to see how our clients are doing :)
How cute is this little guy? |

| His eyes are the same color of his jacket! |

| Karyn and Brian: Wedding |
Weddings Tuesday, March 24, 2009 |

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding to kick-start our wedding season than Karyn and Brian's big day in Anoka, Mn. We had the best time with Karyn and Brian during their engagement session and were eagerly awaiting their wedding day!
It was a perfect spring day -- blue sky, 55 degrees, no wind -- for a wedding. Karyn and her bridesmaids looked gorgeous thanks to Taj Salon in Brooklyn Park, Mn. Brynn Andre of Brynn Andre Beauty was on-hand for Karyn's makeup and Brynn did a wonderful job!
Karyn and Brian are a laid-back and fun couple, so the whole day had a very relaxed feel that we loved! Thank you for inviting us to be a part of your day, guys! And have a great time on your honeymoon :)
Here's Karyn in the morning, at the salon ::

| I love the doodles from makeup on makeup artists hands :) |

| Karyn and Brian had the cutest flower girls. Here's Amber :: |

| How pretty are these flowers? Love them! |

| We're back |
News Monday, March 23, 2009 |

After a very fun weekend in Minneapolis, we are back in Grand Forks, and just in time. Apparently there's a flood going on in North Dakota and we've been missing it! Our thoughts are with our friends in Fargo ... we hope the sandbag effort is going well and that everyone is staying dry!
Kory and I had our work cut out for us in Minneapolis -- we had a couple fun family sessions, a stunning wedding, and some super-special sessions (that I'll be able to show you in a couple weeks, hopefully!) all in four days! Everything went well and we had a great time meeting up with old friends and making new ones :) |
