| Happy Fourth of July! |
Monday, July 5, 2010 |

I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing Fourth of July weekend! With my boyfriend, best friend and favorite friend out of town on the Fourth of July, I spent Sunday work-laxing (that's my word for casually working). In the evening I wandered down to the Grand Forks Greenway for the fireworks show.
First, there was a pretty sunset :: |

| Then I sat right here for exactly 42 minutes in a painful crouched position whilst being attached by mosquitoes whilst waiting for the show to start :: |

| Finally, the fun began :: |

| Black and white fireworks photo? Sure, why not :: |

| I love the car streak through this photo :: |

| An actual vacation! |
Thursday, June 17, 2010 |

I've been home from vacation for over a week and I am still trying to catch up on my email, blogging, editing, etc. Vacations are awesome, but catching up after vacation? Yeah, not so awesome :)
But, I am finally back to blogging after a long break. I hope you enjoyed Kory's posts (even though he didn't post anything embarrassing at all! I guess that's why he's such a good friend, right?). I'm excited to show you photos from my trip ... although I feel silly for posting vacation photos. Don't people usually hate looking through other people's vacation photos? Oops.
I feel like I always go on mini-vacations. You know: Four days here, a long weekend there. And those mini-vacations are usually because I am traveling to a friend's wedding or a family reunion or it is a work trip. I rarely make travel plans just because.
So, about a month ago the opportunity to go somewhere for a week presented itself and I thought "Wow, an actual vacation?" We packed our bags and tent and ... |

we (that'd be me and the boyfriend) flew into Phoenix, Arizona then drove up to Grand Canyon National Park for three days of hiking and camping. It was breathtaking!
Here's our view from a hike down into the canyon :: |

| We were at the Canyon early enough in the season to still catch a few spring flowers :: |

| The boyfriend enjoying the view :: |

| Photo of me taken by the boyfriend :: |

| We attended a few sunset programs at the park. This one was pretty cool :: |

| After the Grand Canyon, we traveled down to Sedona for a day. Our hotel was right on this little babbling brook. |

| We eventually made our way back down to Phoenix and Scottsdale. We stayed in an amazing hotel -- that's our outdoor bathtub on the right and the gorgeous spa on the left. |

| The best part of Arizona? The sun shone every day we were there. Sure, it was freakin' HOT in Phoenix -- our rental car reported it was 112 one day! Despite the heat, I still loved seeing the sun each day. I may need to start wintering in Arizona ... |
