Monica and Chris: Minneapolis wedding

I've been so excited to show you this wedding! I first met Chris and Monica on a snowy Minnesota day last January. They are such a genuine and honest couple; I felt like I had known them for years after our meeting. They planned a festive ceremony and reception at the newly constructed pavilion at Silverwood Park in Minneapolis. Now, for those of you looking for a gorgeous, natural location in the Minneapolis area, this is your kind of place! The grounds have a wonderful rustic beauty, complete with a lake, small bridge and island.

Chris and Monica's ceremony took place outside on a patio overlooking the lake. The day had a slight chill, so a fire was lit in the big stone fireplace. After the ceremony the guests moved inside to eat, drink, and dance!

I'm so, so glad we had the chance to work with Chris, Monica, and their families.

This is the reason I love what I do ::

What I need to take pretty pictures :: Camera? Check. Rain boots? Check. Shootsac? Yes. Fur to keep me warm? Check. Beaded bag? Yep.

Happy Fourth of July!

I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing Fourth of July weekend! With my boyfriend, best friend and favorite friend out of town on the Fourth of July, I spent Sunday work-laxing (that's my word for casually working). In the evening I wandered down to the Grand Forks Greenway for the fireworks show.

First, there was a pretty sunset ::

Then I sat right here for exactly 42 minutes in a painful crouched position whilst being attached by mosquitoes whilst waiting for the show to start ::

Annika and Kamilla: Sisters!

Oh, sisters. I'm an only-child so I have a soft-spot for that bond sisters share (say that five times fast). These adorable sisters had us laughing with them the entire session. Three-year old Annika was a little shy at first, but after I brought out a chocolate lollipop it was all smiles! And I think you may find Kamilla on America's Next Top Model in about 10 years. The girl knows how to pose like a pro!

Kelli and Brian: Bismarck, ND wedding

When a girl has not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR pairs of shoes ready to go for her wedding day, I just know that we'll get along. Kelli had a comfy pair of flip flops, a dressy pair of heels, a rockin' pair of cowboy boots and a pair of super-cute rain boots (you know, just in case!). Brian, her groom, only had one pair of shoes. But really, isn't that all a guy needs?

Kelli and Brian tied the knot in Bismarck. Before the wedding ceremony we hiked, not walked, around the Missouri River and bluffs for some photo fun. Kelli's smart and wore her awesome cowboys boots for this portion of the program. 'Cause all that hiking around can really ruin a good pair of heels :)

Life is all about the details, right? Kelli and Brian's wedding was filled with clever details (see this post on Fresh Wed!) that gave the whole day a lot of personality and charm.

The Johnsons!

Oh, how we love the Johnson family :) Four-year old Addyson and her little bro Ty (one-year old) just melt my heart. Ty has expressive blue eyes and the cutest two teeth when he smiles. Addy is silly and funny and loves to laugh -- but she does have a serious side which I love to capture, too.
