Megan

Megan is one of my first clients. She was born right around the time when I started thinking about my own photo business (my first business cards had a photo of a purple flower and said "Shawna Widdel Photography Services." Ha! Great name!). Lucky for me, her mom asked if I'd capture photos of Megan right after she was born. And now, 8 years later, I'm still lucky enough to capture photos of her. I love my job! 
 
Megan turned 8 years old last fall, so we celebrated with a little photo shoot of her. Megan is so, so grown up I can hardly stand it. She's smart, funny, and very creative. I loved this session because it was just me and Megan and we got to talk about school, clothes and BOYS :) 
 
Because I've snapped so many photos of Megan over the years, I thought we'd try something different this year. We started the session with a little studio setup in my office, then ventured outside into the snowy/rainy day!

Justine + John

Justine and John's Fargo wedding was a gorgeous and fun celebration! I fell in love with their wedding party -- they laughed at my jokes and put up with my random ideas -- so we were all instant friends (at least that's my side of the story!). Justine's dress was really beautiful and unique, and I loved her color choices -- a bright pop of orange mixed with grays and creams! She's a girl after my own heart :)

Moriah + Hayden

Back in June we took a BIG road trip all the way out to western North Dakota for Moriah and Hayden's wedding. Moriah's from the charming little town of Scranton, ND. Because we'd never been to that area of North Dakota before, we showed up extra early to give ourselves a little tour. We found so many lovely spots. For example, here's their cute post office ::
Moriah, Hayden, and all of their friends and family were so wonderful and welcoming to us! We had the full-run of Moriah's family farm for photos, so we tried to take advantage of it. Western North Dakota has such beautiful landscapes. It is hard to NOT take a lovely photo :)

Alison + Josh

Now that the chill of winter is finally upon us, it is a great time to grab a mug of hot chocolate and  
review what's been happening at Shawna Noel Photography this year!  
 
I started out this year swearing that I'd be a better blogger. But then life got in the way (as it usually does!).  
It has been a BIG year for us, and I'm really excited to finally share some photos and stories from 2012. 
 
I am going to start right where we left off -- waaaaaayyyyy back in June with Alison and Josh's lovely wedding at UND's Hopper-Danley chapel!
