A few weekends back, I met up with my cousin Alex for his senior photo shoot. I remember Alex when he was just a little guy, opening up his presents from Santa on Christmas morning. But now he's all grown up and getting ready for college next year. Alex is a smart, down-to-Earth and very, very funny guy ... any time I'm with Alex and his mom + dad, I get sore-ab syndrome from laughing so much!

On a chilly afternoon in Minnesota, Alex and I explored his neighborhood for some good photo-takin' spots. Highlights from our exploration include a wayward duck, me almost slipping into the river with all of my camera gear, and Drake, Alex's dog, getting a little too excited about a cardboard box.

Oh, and during our adventure we snapped a few photos, too. Here are my favorites ::

Tana and Travis: Bismarck, ND wedding

Today we are taking a trip way way back to the summer of 2010. I have more then 20 weddings to show you from 2010 and am excited to get to it. Over the next few weeks I'll be posting weddings and portrait sessions from 2010/2011. Today we are starting with Tana + Travis' Bismarck wedding!

I met Tana through my pal and fellow wedding photographer Katie Lewis. Tana and Katie are good friends, and lucky for us, Katie recommended us to Tana. Tana is, without a doubt, one of the funniest people I know. Despite rainy weather on their wedding, we laughed with Tana, Travis, and their wedding party all day. They even kept smiling while we shot photos in the rain!

New workshop date

Hello, blog friends! Happy February. I'm absolutely overjoyed to report that I am back to blogging! We've got a lot of catching up to do :)

First, I'm happy to announce we're hosting another beginner photography workshop on Feb. 26. Here are the details ::

When?
Saturday, Feb. 26
Class from 1pm to 5pm, with dinner and q+a session to follow

What?
A beginner workshop focusing on the basics of your camera and digital photography in order to create photos you'll love. Well talk about a range of topics from exposure, focus, posing, and lighting, to post-processing (plus anything else you ask!). This is a hands-on class with a live shoot. And no need to take notes during class; a take-home packet will be provided to help you remember what you learned!

After a long day of class, dinner is our treat! You'll have time to ask us any questions you need answered. Nothing against point and shoots, of course, but A DSLR camera is required for this class.

Where?
The class will be held in Grand Forks at the Alerus Center.

How much?
$200 (includes dinner)
