Tampa wrap-up

Whew! It's been a long time since I've typed more than a sentence or two on the ol' blog here. I feel like our schedule has been busy, busy, busy since last September! Then with Christmas and New Years and our big trip to Tampa (yay!), it's just been a crazy couple months.

Now that it's January I have some time to relax, breathe, and think about what's next for me, and for Shawna Noel Photography.

I've got a lot to blog about, so stay tuned in the next couple days for more pix from our Tampa beach session, photos from two fun photo sessions, and some of our best of 2007 lists :)

Here are some photos from our time in Tampa at the Digital Wedding Forum convention. We had a wonderful time meeting with fellow wedding photographers, listening to some amazing photographers speak, and just spending time in the Florida sun (with no coats or mittens, hooray!).

Highlights from Tampa:

- Seeing the Nikon D3. Everyone at the conference had one (OK, not everyone, but it sure seemed like it! So jealous!). And we went to the Imaging USA expo and Nikon had three D3s on display. Kory almost fainted with excitement. I was shocked by the clean, clean ISO at 6400. Damn.

- Wedding from Hell. The bride was 6'2 and the groom was 5'2. A bridesmaid started smoking during the ceremony. The pastor was drinking beer during the ceremony, and stopped in the middle of the vows to take a call on his cell. The wedding planner was wearing sequins and had a 12 page photo list. And we, the 500 wedding photographers watching, got great lessons from The Bebbs, Susan Stripling, and Greg Gibson on how to handle any wedding situation.

- The weather! It was so nice to walk outside without a coat in the middle of January.

(And I'm sorry these aren't the greatest photos ... all taken with the little point-and-shoot, AKA the in-camera technology)
