Kelsey: Senior photos

Kory and I met up with Kelsey for some senior photos a couple weeks ago and had no idea what a fabulous model she would be!

We split her session into a morning session and an evening session to take best advantage of the natural light ... something we love to do. Kelsey was up for anything, so we took her to some interesting locations and and tried to give her some unique senior pics. :)

I can't even begin to tell you how much we laughed, and laughed and laughed some more. We had so much fun!

Thanks for being such a wonderful model for us, K!

Here she is, smiling as always ::
She had a great serious face, too ::

Out for the weekend!

We are headed to Devils Lake and Minot this weekend for some wedding fun! Next week we'll be back with lots of new blog posts from seniors, family sessions and of course, more weddings!

Our September calendar is full with family sessions and seniors. If you'd like a session for Christmas cards, book early!

Here's a photo of Chanel, a senior session we had a while back. Isn't she gorgeous?

Nikki and Brandon: Wedding

Meet Nikki and Brandon, one of our hilarious and fun wedding couples. Nikki and Brandon were married in Fargo a few weeks back and we were laughing (with them, of course, not at them!) the entire day. Nikki has a great sense of humor and we had so much fun with her and Brandon!

Kory and I met up with Nikki and her attendants in the morning ::
Nikki was happy (once she got her coffee!) ::
Surrounded in a cloud of hairspray ::
Brandon telling Nikki how beautiful she looks ::
Nikki, waiting to go down the aisle ::
The church had a beautiful blue glow to it from the windows ::
Even the pastor talked about how much these two laugh (and that made them laugh) ::

After the ceremony, we went outside for some photos. Here's the too-cute flower girl ::

Bodee, Nikki and Bradon's son, wanted to be a part of the photo ::
Nikki and Brandon had scratch-off lottery cards for all their guests, so we used one for the rings (I didn't win!) ::
But this gal did win! Yay, $50!
No clicking glasses here: anyone who wanted Nikki and Brandon to kiss had to come up and give an example. There was a lot of licking ::
We snuck out for some photos right at sunset ::
I love this idea: Nikki and Brandon made a cool background and had their guests take photos in front of it.

The Askims!

When we were out west in Williston for Leah and Ryan's wedding, we made some time to meet up with the Askims! Last year we met the Askim clan in Grand Forks, so it was fun to explore Williston with the family this year.

The Askims are one of the coolest families I know. Helen and Chad are really fun, cool parents and therefore Giles and Ivan are really fun, cool kids. We ran, biked, played t-ball, and collected bottlecaps all before heading to Subway for lunch, where Giles was in awe of not one but TWO TVs showing cartoons. :)

Here are the brothers, hamming it up ::
Can you feel the brotherly love?
Boys run. A lot.
I love the color in the photo ::
I was trying to take a cute photo of Ivan when Giles' head appeared out of nowhere ::
Hugs are free ::
Check out those baby blues ::
I swear Giles is a politician campaigning to save the tree in this photo (or a comedian? "And then I said to the lady ...").
During T-ball time, I asked one thing: Please don't hit me with the ball. On his first swing, Ivan hit me straight in the head. Ow. (That's the ball flying at my head.)

Leah and Ryan: Wedding

When I met up with Leah and Ryan for their engagement session back in January, I knew Leah and I would get along right away. She was wearing this fabulous coat from Anthropologie, one of my favorite stores, and just had a great sense of style. Leah and Ryan are a fun, laid-back couple and during their engagement session were up for anything. We were really looking forward to their wedding day!

Fast forward eight months and we were on our way out to Williston for Leah and Ryan's big day! Leah's dress was a beautiful lace v-neck and her shoes were Manolos with feathers. So, so pretty! We had great weather the whole day and we were NOT eaten alive by mosquitoes like I thought we would be!

Thanks for a great day, Leah and Ryan! On to the photos ::

Leah and her bridesmaids got ready at her Aunt's adorable home about three blocks from the church ::
Her shoes and dress (how cute is that rounded door?) ::
On her way to see Ryan ::
The church had an amazing amount of natural light ::
Wheat from Leah's family farm was used to decorate the reception venue ::
Showing off the goods ::
Ryan and Leah had such a great wedding party ... lotsa laughter all day!
I love how they are both holding their shoes ::
We played with some different lighting during the dance ::
What a good-lookin' couple!
